Jump Rope for Heart Celebration
Students lined-up in the gym to have some fun on Friday, Feb. 27. The event was in celebration of Blades students’ efforts jumping rope to raise money for the American Heart Association. Students got to squirt Dr. Laurie Tretter-Larkin and Mr. Schulte with Silly String, shaving cream, and feathers. Click here to read more. To see a video about the event click here.
Book Fair Events March 6-10
The Blades Elementary School Book Fair takes place Friday, March 6 - Tuesday, March 10.

Here are the details for the All-for-Books Coin Challenge:
--Thursday- quarters.
--Friday- any coins.
--Monday- pennies.
--Tuesday- nickels.
--Wednesday- dimes.

Every cent raised will help buy books for teachers' and school libraries.  Also, for every dollar raised, Scholastic Book Fairs donates one book to one of two organizations-- Kids in Distressed Situations or Kids in Need Foundation.

The Blades K.I.S.S. (Kids Invite Someone Special) Breakfast will happen Tuesday, March 10, at 6:30 a.m.

Jazz St. Louis Musicians to Perform at District Elementary Honors Choir Concert March 26
The Mehlville School District elementary honors choir concert takes place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at the Nottelmann Auditorium.

The concert will feature musicians from Jazz St. Louis, thanks to a special partnership with Mehlville School District.  Music 
teachers held auditions and chose student performers.  Then they began rehearsals Tuesday, February 3.  For information on how to get tickets to the honors choir concert, contact a music teacher at one of the elementary schools.

Trivia Night
The Blades Elementary annual Trivia Night fundraiser is all set for Friday, February 27th.  Former Fox-2 reporter Tim Ezell will be back once again to serve as emcee, but there is one major change we made after receiving feedback from our parents.  Click here for all the Trivia Night details.  To see a video principal Dr. Jeremy Booker and some Blades students produced about Trivia Night, click here.
Congratulations Dr. Laurie Tretter-Larkin
Congratulations to Laurie Tretter-Larkin, who is now Dr. Tretter-Larkin! Students surprised their assistant principal with an all-school assembly on Wednesday, Dec. 17, in honor of her becoming a doctor. Click here to read more.

The Giving Tree

Blades Fall PJ Party
On Halloween, some students at Blades wore their pajamas to school to take part in the annual Fall party. So if they went trick or treating on Halloween night, a quick change into a costume was in order. Then back into PJ’s at bedtime!
